Rosh Hashanah Begins (Jewish)

September 12

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, marks the beginning of the High Holy Days, a period of reflection, prayer, and renewal. Celebrated over two days, it commemorates the creation of the world and is a time for individuals to consider their actions, seek forgiveness, and set positive intentions for the year ahead. Traditional observances include attending synagogue services, sounding the shofar (a ram’s horn), and sharing festive meals with symbolic foods such as apples dipped in honey to represent hopes for a sweet and prosperous new year. Rosh Hashanah is a meaningful celebration of faith, community, and new beginnings.
