Carnival & Mardi Gras

Carnival typically involves public celebrations, including events such as parades, public street parties and other entertainments, combining some elements of a circus. Mardi Gras, also known as Shrove Tuesday, is the final day of Carnival; it thus falls on the day before the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday.
